LOVED IT

OMG. This book, just. OMG.

I will try to make this review more sensible than a long stream of OMG's (but seriously, oh my god). So I wrote in my review for the first half of this book (Steel and Snow) that I had my first experience of frustration with this book. I was getting a bit disillusioned with this series. Blood and Gold completely washes that frustration and disillusion away.

I'm not going to write anymore, because I don't think I can say anything else sensible.

One of the best books in the series that I have read so far, the ending 100% caught me off guard

I think that might be my favourite one so far. That ending omg!

I was expecting this to be quite slow going, as I read the first few chapters I thought it would most likely end up that way.

But how wrong I was!

Definitely one of the best so far and I'm going to say... just be careful who you start liking in each book, there's definitely no guarantee that they will live to see the end!

I only hope the next book will still be grasping me by my metaphorical book balls!!

kind of incredible
a lot of character redemption (jon snow and sansa!!), a lot of storylines that were dying down in the previous half were brought back, consequences of actions are seen
very clear that this is part 2 of a book, lots of huge events/plot developments happened (the red wedding???)
having hated sansa in the very first book, she doesn't deserve what i fear will happen to her- also she's only 13...

This was just such a good book. Really loved the character development and the ending.
