Okay, so... umm... that's it? That's the end? But...

This volume finally delved into the Killgrave plotline (aka The Purple Man) and I'm torn. I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed this more or less if I hadn't already watched the show on Netflix. As far as villains are concerned, he was much more... real... in the show. I mean, purple doesn't really strike terror into the hearts of evil doers, y'know what I mean? His ability is still one of the better ones out there, and there's this one scene where the artist perfectly captured his unrestrained violence.

Speaking of artwork, this final volume captured my attention. The artistry changed with her timeline and memories, which allows the reader to follow the quick scene changes, but also changes the feel of each scene.

I'm going to be sad to see this series go. I'll definitely check out The Pulse, but I'm a little wary of what it will be like without the gritty vulgarity that I've come to expect from Jessica Jones.

Vol 3 & 4 of Jessica Jones: Alias were the strongest in what was already a strong series. I love JJ as a character, and even though she doesn't appear in Marvel Max anymore, I'm definitely going to check her out in Pulse.

Hm...fizzle? Maybe. I can't say I'm impressed with how this volume of the JJ saga turned out, and it's kinda the last one if you consider how different the Pulse "continuation" story is compared to the MAX/Alias version (I'm planning to continue with the Pulse stuff soon). I was looking forward to the Killgrave story after seeing season 1 of the Netflix series, and I have to say Netflix nailed it while this original version just kinda blew it. I'm glad Netflix saw the potential of the Killgrave story and basically made it 100% of season 1. In this book, it's barely explored at all. Very disappointing.

I like the general JJ story regardless of the specifics of each story arc, though, so this still gets 3 stars. I could have been much better, but it's totally worth reading. I'd love to get the story behind the Alias/Pulse shift. Maybe Marvel didn't dig the adult-ness of Alias? Thought they'd get more sales out of a PG-13 version? Who knows. I'll miss Alias, and I'm prepared to roll my eyes at Pulse, at least a little bit. Oh well.

("Kindle Edition?" I didn't think I selected that. No Kindle Edition here. It's paper, baby, all paper.)
