This book possibly could have received 4 stars if there was an actual conclusion to the finale of this series! What the heck?! That's how she chose to end this?? With a huge question mark?! Annoying. I really enjoyed this series with its mystery and suspense, but I really wanted some happy closure for this group of four lovely ladies who sure went through a lot in a short amount of time! Goodness. Off to see how other people rated the finale. Ugh.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
These girls are so dumb.
First, let's just mention the first line in the author acknowledgements:
It is with a heavy heart that I write the acknowledgements for the last book in the Pretty Little Liars series.
Yeah, I call bull shit as there still 8 more. I'm thinking it should have just ended here.
Now onto this book. Ali is back. But she's pretending to be her twin sister Courtney who was actually pretending to be Ali when she died. Got it? Everyone's just pretending to be everyone and the girls eat this right up. Especially Emily who finally has her Ali back (could you be any more pathetic Emily?). But weird things keep happening and stories aren't adding up and it all comes to head in a giant blaze at a cabin.
First off, I think it's funny how quick these girls were to believe that this Courtney was Ali. I mean, it turned out it was but you would think after all they have been through with the lies and everything that they would have doubted it for a minute - only Aria questioned it. Everyone else just fell in line. And this is after 7 books of them realizing how horrible Ali was. Apparently she wasn't that horrible if they're all kissing her ass again.
On top of that, when the giant reveal happens it really makes no sense. This will be spoilery now. Ali blames the girls for ruining her life and that's why she's been targeting them. How exactly did they ruin her life? They thought they were friends with the real Ali when actually it was Courtney. So while her anger towards Courtney is understandable, her anger towards the girls really isn't. So that whole thing felt a little ridiculous.
But hey, they girls are friends again so there's that. I can't believe there's still 8 more books. I never thought I'd say I like the TV show better, but it's worlds better than these Gossip Girl knockoffs.

While the book was very entertaining, I found myself very confused about the long lost twin and who she really was and how that played into the story. Overall, I think this was a good conclusion for the second A mystery.
What a crazy ending to this series! Although I'm confused....Twisted came out not too long ago and I know Shepard said distinctly at the end of this book that it was the END Of the PLL series. So I'm a bit confused. Will have to check at work tomorrow to see what Twisted is all about *thank god for working at a book store*. Personally I think this is a perfect ending and I really hope there isn't another book.

in relation to the other seven books, this one is by far the best - truly do not know where the book is going and such a big surprise at the end
The girls are shocked to learn about a secret in the Delaurentis family. Each girl seems to find closure in their romantic relationships and families in this book and things with the mysterious A seem to be at an end, though it is questioned in the final pages of the book.
