I think this is the best of all the Pretty Little Liar books so far. I still don't think the writing is amazing but it's a quick, fun, easy read.

I think this would have been better if hadn't have been spoiled, but it was still pretty good. Obviously the twist wasn't as shocking because I knew what it was, but it was a good twist.

I thought that the whole
Ali had a secret twin and they swapped places and then Ali comes back disguised as Courtney but actually Courtney was the girl the Liars were friends with and Ali tries to kill them all out of revenge
thing happened in book 16 of the series, so I was really shocked to find that it all happened in this book and that there was an actual plot here instead of filler content. I thought I was done reading these books after watching the Netflix series and finding it to be a more interesting (if poorly plotted) story. I thought these books were entirely predictable and I couldn't handle the secondhand embarrassment of seeing the Liars go through A-orchestrated catastrophes again. I thought the writing was going to be horrible and the Liars were going to remain shallow characters. And here's the thing: going in with low expectations meant that this book kind of wowed me. I have no idea where the series goes from here. I can imagine that A is still around, and that she'll terrorize the Liars, but I'm actually intrigued about how Sara Shepard is going to milk 8 more books out of it. While the twist at the end was predictable, I actually thought it was well done and hinted at instead of a
Gotcha! Ali had a secret twin so you couldn't have possibly predicted the culprit behind this mess
moment. I also really liked that Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer didn't go through as much torture as the previous books have put them through. I mean, sure
almost being killed by your ex-best friend's twin
isn't a cake walk, but at least no one was accusing them of murder/ostracizing them from their peers, etc. And I actually think Sara Shepard was being satirical with her constant brand namedropping and overdramatizing of everything. I mean, what teenage girl is oblivious to current fashion trends and brand names? And the namedropping makes sense for the privileged environment the girls live in. It's kind of genius, actually. The catty, soap-opera nature of the book isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's like reading a People magazine, to borrow from Shepard and pencil in a pop culture reference. In a way, the PLL books are a perfect time capsule *ahem* for the early 2000s. One day these books will be considered historical fiction, I'm just saying. Also, while I usually hate the swift "after that moment, everything changed and my life resolved and I'm a better person" conclusion in books, it made sense to me that the girls' perspectives on life would change and that their parents would behave better after the traumatic event at the climax of the book. What can I say, I'm a sucker for seeing the Liars all become friends again and finally have the content, functional lives they hadn't gotten. Color me pleasantly surprised.

If you like Gossip girl, you will probably like this. Light and frothy reading, with little substance, but rather addictive.

This one was definitely my favorite in the series. I'm not sure where the series goes from here but I really do believe that this should've been the final book. Better to go out with a bang than to fizzle out slowly.

Finally, I've come to reading Wanted, the eighth instalment of the PLL series. And I was overwhelmed.

The story begins as Aria, Emily, Hannah and Spencer celebrate the fact that their nightmares are over now for A is caught. But then, the truth is revealed as they found out that Ali has a twin sister named Courtney. She was sent to some kind of an institution due to her being unstable. Little did they know that that twin might be even deadlier than Ali.

Wow! I couldn't believe how easy it is for Courtney a.k.a the real Ali to have them Liars fooled. They completely fell into her trap and as soon as they knew the truth, they were pretty devastated. Aria was skeptical at first, but she later rekindled her friendship for Ali. Emily was also quite sad as Ali had given her hope, especially after the hot, steamy kiss. Spencer, can't find anything suspicious, rolled along as she finally found another separated family member and of course, Hanna, is glad that Ali back and she was determined to rule the school again. But it was all just a dream.

It's not over until A says it is.

You guys totally have to read this book! I know it's nowhere near the conclusion of the series (6 books to go), but it was just intriguing and astonishing. I totally missed them text messages from A and it was a bit bland. And I can't wait to read Twisted!
