holy jesus i thought i had it figured out but wow this was insane

I read this in one sitting! It was riveting! Scarlett and Donatella leave their tiny island, their abusive father, and Scarlett's elusive fiancé, to go to Caraval, the legendary game put on by Master Legend, where the prize is a wish. But nothing is as it appears when they arrive. Scarlett, along with Donatella's sailor friend Julian, try to navigate the landscape of the game. Will Scarlett be able to find her sister? And will she be able to trust anyone at Caraval? Scarlett was an amazing FMC and I loved watching her brain figure out all the clues. There were so many twists and turns, I couldn't catch all of them!

★★★★

I have finally got round to reading this book after this has been on my TBR for the longest time, and I have to say this one managed to get me out of my slump! 👏🏼

This book is such a cute, cosy and magical read full of plenty of twists and turns!
There definitely isn’t a dull moment with this book, the author has done a great job with keeping the reader guessing, as the book goes it’s hard to differentiate between what was really happening or what was just a sneaky ploy.
Whilst some elements were predictable, others you couldn’t predict because everything kept changing, I mean this book truly is magical for the reader!

I think for me, I would’ve liked the clues to have been something I could’ve tried to guess myself whilst reading along, and I would’ve like a bit more to the romance side but that’s my personal opinion, it doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s truly an enchanting read.

I’m not sure if I’m going to carry on with the series yet because I did like that ending and I’m not sure the others are calling to me.
For now book one was almost perfect and I’m happy to leave it there ❤️
