STOPPP I MISSED THIS SO MUCH EVEN THOUGH SCARLETT AND TELLA HAD ME FUMING

I don't read a lot of YA or SciFi, but I definitely enjoyed this book. If you are able to suspend disbelief at the completely outrageous plot line - but hey, therein lies the fun (!) then this is a super fun read. It continually reminded me of The Night Circus which is a long time favorite of mine.

holy jesus i thought i had it figured out but wow this was insane

I read this in one sitting! It was riveting! Scarlett and Donatella leave their tiny island, their abusive father, and Scarlett's elusive fiancé, to go to Caraval, the legendary game put on by Master Legend, where the prize is a wish. But nothing is as it appears when they arrive. Scarlett, along with Donatella's sailor friend Julian, try to navigate the landscape of the game. Will Scarlett be able to find her sister? And will she be able to trust anyone at Caraval? Scarlett was an amazing FMC and I loved watching her brain figure out all the clues. There were so many twists and turns, I couldn't catch all of them!
