It was so toxic. The whole “dilemma” was completely unnecessary and confusing, how can I be so far in angewandt and it’s not revealed what is going on? It’s really frustrating. Also: the very thought of Emery and Nash ending up together makes me SO sick because that’s just so so toxic. I like enemies to lovers so much but books like this really drag that trope through the mud. I’ve read Darling Venom which is by the same author and it’s one of my favorite books ever, so well executed. But this? Idk what went wrong here but it’s so poorly written that after over 250 pages I have no interest in continuing, I simply don’t care how it’ll end. That’s really sad because it didn’t have to be that way, the plot itself had a lot of potential.

Wow this book, one thing I have now learned after reading a considerable amount of books with similar covers, is that, they do have a plot and it isn't always about the romance, but is actually so damn complicated! Don't judge a book by its cover people.

The story is soo much more than what's described in the blurb.

This book was exactly what it said it was, dark, the characters never changed, as in they didn't magically turn from their dark, broody selves into this sweet person as soon as they fell in love, nope they stayed the same, and I thought that was neat.

The plot was like that of a thriller novel and although we could guess what could happen, it was still a lot engrossing.

And yes there were Manyyyyy sus parts where I was like, wtf am I reading, but overall, this was a good read, do mind the content warnings, because it was dark romance read.

The dual POVs worked out well. Although I think the book was a bit longer than it should have been, the middle bits got a bit long and deep, but it wasn't boring to read, so I don't mind. Overall I don't regret that I picked up this book, got to read something really unique after a while.
