Awful.

Nora and Dex HARDLY knew each other because not once did they ever like… have normal conversations about each other’s lives like normal human beings. How the fuck was I supposed to believe they fucking fell in love??? Because THEY CONSTANTLY FUCKED? Bro if I’d wanted to read about a constant fuck-fest I would have picked up an erotica, are you fucking kidding me?? WHERE WAS THE FUCKING ROMANCE I HAD BEEN PROMISED????

And mind you I’m not even wrong about this because towards the very end, he literally went “I don’t know if she likes flowers or not” BRUH???

Not to mention the cringy dialogue…

Also what’s up with this author always (in an EXTREMELY CORNY way, mind you) insisting to include the other MMCs from the previous books of the series in the narrative?? I legit paused reading just to wince.

Lord.

I’m a sucker for a single dad romance. Nora was a great FMC and I’d been looking forward to her story through the whole series. Did not disappoint!

great

I reread the first three in the series so they would be fresh in my mind- and because man, I love the friendships these ladies have.

So, as I was reading, I started to think: “man, this one feels just different than the other three.” I couldn’t put my finger on it, but Claire’s writing was just a bit different- then I looked at the books published dates. And (I’m crying as I write this dang review) life happens- to the creative geniuses that write these amazing worlds I love to read, and to the characters in them… In that sense, this is one of the most real books I’ve ever read. Time passes, in real life and in the boo one, and people change. Big and small, events impact the lives we are reading about.
SO! We had the first three girls find their HEAs, and Nora is so happy for them. But that means her relationships with them are fundamentally different than they were in the previous installments. Instead of the Fab Four ladies going for their runs rewarded by dirty martinis, we see the growth and change in that dynamic when Nora laced up her running shoes and pounds pavement solo. It’s poignant, that simple instance exemplifying the difference.
Loved this series and loved this book.
