Better than most of the Maze Runner books, this prequel lacked new material, created plot holes that didn't exist before, and added little to the existing characters. What makes it better, then, you ask? It wasn't rushed. Time was allowed to pass. While that time was often a little confusing (characters acting very different than their ages implied), it was over all much better than the constant action of the previous books.

Also, lest I forget: Teresa is the worst.

This was a frustrating book as I hated pretty much every single adult and how no one seemed to care these are children we're talking about. I guess that is the point of this book but it is impossible for me to believe there is not one single adult that tried to do something.

Honestly, Thomas, Minho, Alby, Newt, and Chuck were the only ones I actually liked. And even then, I was frustrated with Thomas for most of the book.

the principal problem w james and this saga isn't even the fact he's a horrible person, is that he actually created a great dystopic w great characters but cannot put the necessary information on the way through these books. they couldve been more enjoyable if he wouldve had clear the plan thomas created before he arrived to the glade. then the nosense about why a boy that just have came in suddenly wants to change everything weren't a nosense. there must be a reason why i personally enjoyed this book more than the two last books, (because it gives u important information) which doesn't gave u anything about the saga. this couldve been really work with better organization.
