Christmas Sisters

If you wanted to read Christmas stories that touch the heart, this would be a good book to add to that list. Violet Howe is an author whose work I enjoy, and the other authors are newer to me. These stories worked so well together and were a nice length to read in between all the December activities which kept me busy.

What a treasure

I cannot wait to read the other novels in this feel good series. Maddie and her girls will turn on the water works and put all your emotions on high alert. I wait in anticipation for the HEA of these amazing characters.

This was a lovely story.
We meet Madeline who tragically lost her husband and young daughter. She vows to keep her and their love of Christmas alive. This Christmas she agrees to foster a young girl, in the end though she ends up fostering 4 girls. Can they each learn to love and trust each other? Will Chrismtas brign them together not just for the season but for life?

This was really well written and is the start of a series. I loved the idea and the story is told from each characters point of view.
I will defintely be carry on with this series.

This is a novella by 5 female authors, introducing Maddie Kirby, a Mom who lost her husband and daughter in a car accident, and the four foster daughters who arrive in her home in time for Christmas. It is an introductory novella, so we learn a little bit about each character, and there will be add-on novellas by each individual author further delving into each character's individual story. I enjoyed the premise and found each character interesting, touching, and am curious to learn more about them. It would be so wonderful if life worked out the way it did in this novella! Thank you to the authors and publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a great idea!

This is a FREE prologue novella written by 5 different authors. Although written by different authors, each story is seamlessly told from the point of view of a foster child and is an introduction to the following 5 books, each set fifteen years later. The focus of the series, the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge, is found family and reminds us about not giving up, maintaining hope, and making a difference, small as it may be.

What you’ll get:
Snippets of the 5 lives and unexpected changes that come with the Christmas season. You’ll get lots of Christmas magic about ‘family’ and you may even be moved to tears. Yes, there's a Christian thread running throughout the story.

Maddie Kirby is dreading the holiday season as she’s grieving the loss of her husband and young daughter. Her job as the school guidance counselor means that she’s aware of a troubled teen needing housing. One thing leads to another and soon Maddie is foster mom to 4 children at Christmas; 15 y/o Josephine, 13 y/o Stevie, 8 y/o Alison, and 8 y/o Hailey. You’ll love this heartwarming story about a woman who channeled her pain into sharing an incredible gift with 4 needy girls.

It’s just the perfect book to remind us to take our eyes off ourselves this season and look for ways we can positively impact the life of another.

As a girl who experienced the foster system from age 8 - 10, I can vouch for the authenticity of the authors' depiction of the child characters. I like to think there are some in the system who get a happy and loving home as these girls do.
The change between each character as narrator benefits from the change of author for each, giving each girl her own tone while not losing the overall flavour of the story.

This is a fun introduction to a series. There are four girls who are fostered and each of their stories is written by a different author which gives each girl a unique voice yet they complement each other.

What a beautiful introduction to the characters. I can’t wait to read the series.

What a delight was to be introduced to these characters! In this first book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge, we meet Jo, Stevie, Alissa and Hailey as school aged girls. Each girl has experienced loss and found themselves in the foster care system. Maddie is a school guidance counselor who has experienced her own tragedy. She decides to take in the four girls who are in need of a home at Christmastime and gives them a place to belong. The viewpoint is told from each of the girls by a different author. I enjoyed meeting these girls, and am looking forward to their separate stories as the series continues.
