This would’ve made a much better film than book, basically a South Korean John Wick. It really wanted to be more than action film style trash but honestly, despite trying to throw in some deep and meaningfuls, that’s all it was. It also went on a bit long and none of the characters or their motivations were particularly believable, especially the women. It was entertaining at times but honestly, I’d look elsewhere unless you really like this distant Asian style of writing.

Not the action story I was expecting but more of a Takeshi Kitano style meditation on the nature of an assassin. Which is no bad thing!

4.5 stars. Could have used maybe a trickier turn or two, but (and I kinda hate to phrase it this way), a movie adaptation of this would be exactly my thing, so I enjoyed it a lot.
