Set in a darker version of South Korea, everything from politics to private disputes are settled using plotters and assassins, who seem to be mostly regular people in need of some extra money. This book explores some difficult topics with beautiful writing. We follow our assassin protagonist as he discovers the humanity in the people around him, and then continues with the tasks he has been given. There is the idea that evil can be perpetuated due to an entrenched way of life rather than any one person’s will.
