I am a huge George Watsky fan. From his slam poetry to his music, I love it all. And this book was no exception. It was funny and thoughtful and smart. A superb collection.

Laughed out loud during the first 3 short stories but lost steam in the middle. It ended strong with the last 2 essays.

Although some essays were definitely better than others, I found the book pretty good for a casual read. Watsky injects humor into the pages quite skillfully, and the majority of his anecdotes were entertaining. I'd say the essays could use more emotional depth or inspirational ideas to be truly exceptional.

I downloaded this as an audiobook because it sounded interesting and had a positive remark from Lin-Manuel Miranda, plus it was narrated by the author which I always love. It was really interesting and funny and relatable and quirky without being aggressively cringy or self-loathing. A feat only a California Jewish boy could accomplish!

- Interesting to get an insight into his life and how that has affected his music and him as a person
- I really like getting into his psychology and how he views things & some of his revelations were quite cool -> However, there were definitely moments when the writing and revelations felt very pretentious and self-important, which I really did not enjoy
- The book as a whole felt very disconnected – there were no threads that connected the stories together, and the chronology was also confusing at times -> This meant that I struggled to feel connected to the stories and characters, and to properly get into the book (I would pick up the book, read one story, then put it down)
