Really well done characters and fun plot. Wish there was a little bit more of a plot twist in the end, but overall very enjoyable m/m rom com!

Maybe if ai didn’t listen to an audiobook I could rate it higher but dear god was this painful to listen to. Or to be fair, I zoned out at least 50% of the book. Not sure if there was an actual plot besides robbery. No chemistry between characters and the way chapters ended in cliffhanger sometimes but the next chapter is already a day or weeks ahead. I don’t know, I had no enjoyment of this book at all.

Truthfully, this was a book to tick letter Q off for my ABC reading challenge

This had a bit of a watery start but turned into a classic soothing Cat Sebastian romance halfway through, and I ended up having a lovely time.

Okay, well I dont even know what to say other than I friggin loved it. Enjoyed the writing, the silly fun way things were set up, the light humor without, the serious topics that were slid effortlessly in with everything else. I felt the chemistry, I enjoyed the romance, and I was here for the plot. Is it a masterpiece, no. Do I have some issue with it, yes. Did I giggle kicking my feet and smile so hard my cheeks hurt, YES.

Thank you so much Timi for the gifted book, I had a blast!

just delightful.  loved the setting, loved these characters, very glad to see some eat the rich undertones, and very excited for the second book.

Another beautiful story with incredible writing, historical is not my usual pick for m/m but Cat Sebastian has a way of making me fall in love with them. Kit and Percy were such interesting, flawed and fun characters from start to finish their growth is stunning!

The story surprised me in a good way, i enjoyed how forward Percy was and all of the flirting with Kit. Longing gazes, lingering touches, the tension and attraction between them is fire. I liked that it still had a slowburn feeling though, as they grew to like each other beyond their appearances and the banter is entertaining.

It has some twists and turns throughout, as learn about both of their past and how everything links together which was fascinating. The actual robbery is a very small part of the tale, but the build up to it with the training was interesting as they fight and tempt each other.

Also a huge fan of fencing! So the sword fight scenes were amazing for me, i adored all the details and the talent shown - the sport and the showmanship is stunning.

Oh and the steam when it hits is perfection, in their messy yet passionate ways - i just adored Kit and Percy so much. They're both flawed and yet recognise that in each other, i enjoyed their
relationship as much and how they come together in the end is lovely.

Also if you enjoy coffeeshop aus, then this story may be perfect for you! There is many aspects of those here and it's so fitting, i loved the teahouse Kit owns and how they first meet.

Must mention the side cast of which their are many and all have their own stories to tell, but i think shall leave that for others to find out. I will say Scarlett was a favourite of mine, followed by Betty. Also
Spoiler enjoyed the allusion to Marian & Robin hood, at least thats what i presume.

Overall a wonderful read with so much to enjoy, the ending is adorable and so sweet - loved the look at future for Kit and Percy

I loved this so much! Maybe it's because it's my first Cat Sebastian and I'm low level dipping my toes in MM historical romances, but I loved how easy this was to just enjoy.

And yeah ok, I may or may not reread this book, but this novel earns the 5th ⭐ just based on that quandary alone!

I'm really excited to now chomp through this author's backlist!

This story was - weirdly enough - when talking about a highwayman and a lordling in cahoots, just so darn wholesome and sweet that I could not put it down, even though I have a million more important things to do today than smile fondly at its domesticity and revel in the fact that no gays died in the making of this novel.

Oh well. *Shrug* Readers gotta read.

Oooh these two were fun. I liked both Kit and Percy. Percy has found himself in quite a bit of a bind and the only way out seems to be robbing his father of a particular black book he always has on his person. A book that actually belonged to Percy's mom before her death. But Percy's not exactly prepared for how to rob a member of the aristocracy like his father, frankly he's not exactly equipped to rob anyone . Enter Kit, Percy has it on good authority that the man is more than the coffee shop proprietor he appears to be.

These two are fun as they figured out how to relate to each other. They come from such disparate backgrounds and Kit has plenty of reasons to hate the aristocracy to which Percy belongs, and specifically to hate Percy's father. And yet these two find themselves with more of a connection than either expected.

I enjoyed Kit and Percy as they got past the divide of class between them. I'm curious to see the other half this story and what exactly was going on with their two friends.

An enjoyable read! The overall shape of the story was a bit unusual - it didn't focus where I expected it to focus or linger where I expected it to linger. This wasn't an entirely bad or good thing; by the end I appreciated that Sebastian was deliberately avoiding some of the more well-worn patterns of romance novel structure for something a bit fresher, as well building up to some very specific ideas. Ultimately, I didn't get completely swept up in it but I had a good time chewing on it.

(It's too bad about the extremely ill fitting cover though)
