Extremely sad but poignant novel. Lots of description of so-called holding therapy, which is just extremely abusive treatment of children with attachment and/or behavioral difficulties. I was sad but not surprised to hear this is still in use today though it’s technically illegal. The twist at the end was quite unexpected so that was well done, but overall just pretty hard to read most of the time.
