I was really enjoying this and then stopped for over a week and just had no desire to finish it. It's a good story and I liked the characters but it didn't rock my world

While the storyline was interesting with its focus on food, I found it a bit preachy. Also, as a lifelong Wisconsinite, I did not appreciate the reinforcing stereotypes that all we do is drink alcohol. There was even a line where one of the main characters said everyone’s driven a little drunk after a few old fashions. The writing was also simplistic and full of cliches.
