I thought that the story line was super interesting and I loved the way magic worked, but I didn’t feel any romantic connection in the book, or really any emotion. There seemed to be a lot of depression and romance as two big themes but I wish there was more description towards them because they seemed to be heavily skipped over

Pretty solid book! I enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was very well-written. Rune was likable and I enjoyed Alex and Gideon. Some of the plot reveals were predictable, but it was still good. I liked the pace until the end, which I thought was a little bit rushed? Either way, I liked this book and the lore/magic! I really want to learn more about the witches and magic system. I will be reading the next book!

It was a really solid start but the end fell flat for me. I enjoyed Rune as a character and the back and forth scheme. The last third of the book felt a bit rushed and I wish there was more time to build up the characters and tension. I wish there was a bit more world building and development but a solid start of the series. I’ll for sure keep an eye out for the next one.
