I had a hard time taking a break for dinner reading this. Jam packed with action and information, this grahic-novel biography was a stupendous story! I love books that make you think
Spoiler the book is about a random historically-based, but not actually real figure, but then tell you in the middle or end that they're actually about someone who is to only real, but famous!

Anywhoo, highly recommended for readers who like graphic novels, biographies, and who don't mind some graphic content, (there are whippings, images of war, and some really creepy visions displayed).

- I had a major stupid moment with this book. I picked it up because I love Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales, and I didn't even read the synopsis or anything. It took me about halfway through the book before I realized this was Harriet Tubman's story. DUH!

- I love that it is Nathan Hale telling historical future stories to the hangman and soldier. It is so clever!

- I love the hangman's interjections. He often says what I am thinking. He speaks for the audience, and it is awesome!

- I loved the quick summary of Frederick Douglas, but he really should have his own book.

- Illustrations and panel are so much fun!

- Even though these books cover serious topics, they are very tastefully hilarious! I love it.

- I can't for more Hazardous Tales!

I knew of Harriet Tubman in general, but I had NO IDEA how much she did - not only helping slaves escape on the Underground Railroad, but also supporting the Civil War. An entertaining way to LEARN SO MUCH!

Fun, clever way to share history. Love the research and that he doesn't make the typical narrative choices. It was fun to have just read this when the big news broke about Harriet Tubman on money.

I've found myself enjoying these historical graphic novels to a surprising degree. Of the ones I've read so far, this ties with the WW1 book as my favourite. Surprising details that I hadn't read in other young reader biographies and an exploration of the full life of Harriet Tubman. A great mix of facts and humour as usual in these.
