It has been a hard read for me to be honest maybe because my mind is not yet conditioned again to read classics during the 1800’s but I didn’t want to give this up so I continued reading it.
I love the character of the Queen, she’s such a curious character with all her shouting of beheading. I got attached to the Cheshire Cat too but this creature only had a short appearance. I also like how innocence was describe in the ending. It reminds me of summers when I was young.

This book was read to me a lot as a child and in a different language than the one I picked in audio format, it was rather fun to rediscover it and experience it all over again

I read this book for the first time for my children’s lit class.
For the most part, it was kind of “meh” to get through. The story was just so ridiculous that I felt like I was trying to get to the next part where things would finally start making sense—but it never did! And I know that’s the point, lol, but it just didn’t really “do” it for me.
I will say that I found myself chucking at the nonsense and at the absolute sass (!) of everyone in Wonderland. The Cheshire Cat was probably my favorite!
I’m kinda surprised that the ending pulled the “it was all a dream card.” I thought the sister’s input was lovely though. All in all, I can appreciate what this work did for children’s literature and I can understand why it’s so celebrated!
