3.5 rounded up.
Interesting plot and lots of action but also a bit long and lots of legal talk. I liked the environment and atmosphere as well as the moral dilemmas.

People are getting murdered in the town of Echo, Texas. But don't worry, Jack Reacharound is on the case. He helps an abused Mexican woman deal with some home drama. Turns out influential townsfolk used to hunt immigrants and the murders were to hush that up. Jack Reacher smashes justice into everyone's faces or shoots them.

3 Stars - This is the first Jack Reacher book that falls short. It's convoluted, and the characters just don't come across as realistic. The narrator uses a poor voice for the female lawyer that just doesn't fit. The story adds nothing to the background of Reacher and is completely stand alone. If you are going to skip one if the Reacher books, this is the one to skip.

The first 50% of this book was painfully boring and I almost stopped reading, but then it picked up. Definitely my least favorite of the series that I have read thus far
