I really enjoyed this, substantive and contemplative while still delivering on the will they won’t they romance of it all. Certain things felt unrealistic (her lack of friends or much life at all outside her family) which allowed certain surprising actions to go unchecked, but it didn’t take me out of the story.

I would have liked this better if I wasn’t puking on my international flight home listening to this. (Also very similar to a lot of other books I’ve already read)

Cute and summery but nothing groundbreaking. I sadly didn’t feel the chemistry between Sam and Wyatt and found it difficult to root for them. Also idk why and this is so shallow but… *Wyatt* is not a good name for a love interest I’m sorry to all the Wyatts out there, I bet you’re lovely </3
I really liked Nora Goes Off Script and was really looking forward to this.
First disappointment was finding out that the book has about half of the chapters set in the summers of Sam's youth, showing her teenage relationship with Wyatt. I do not like when books do it, or maybe I just have never seen a book do it in a satisfying way. All these chapters could've been an email because they definitely didn't sell me on the chemistry between them or showed me why I should root for present day-Sam to (emotionally) cheat on her fiancé. Jack's whole crime was not liking the beach and caring about sun damage (the man is a doctor who treats cancer patients, but it's treated as if he's unreasonable.
Second disappointment was the complete meh of a love story. Grown up Sam and Wyatt also had no chemistry, or even interesting scenes.
Besides Sam's character motivations this book was well written and I was able to fly through it. If it had dragged I would've been even less happy with it, so thank god for small mercies.
