I thought "The One I Left Behind" was her best novel to date but I take it back! I liked this one better. I love stories mixed with the paranormal because it's one of my favorite subjects to read. When you mix the paranormal and you add a little mystery, you get me. The twist was superb and the ending was so eerie and chilling. I'm usually pretty good at deciphering plots but all my hunches turned out wrong. Although some readers disliked this book for it's characters I thought it had the perfect mix of psycotic, crazy, neuratic, obsessed freaks.

This was a delightfully disturbing story of the recklessness of youth and how some mistakes can haunt us forever. Well written and intriguing, with a great concept for a plot.

All I can really say is wow!!! This book kept me guessing the whole time! It was full of twists and turns and as soon as I figured out what happened it changed again! I don't think I had very many draggy spots like some other mysteries do. Definitely glad my book club picked this as our first read of the 2015!
If you are looking for a book that keeps you guessing this is definitely the one for you!!

Another great novel by Jennifer McMahon. Dismantled was a quick read that I absolutely could not put down. It took many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting, the biggest being the ending which I never saw coming. The only "negative" and it's not really a negative was all the lesbian relationships. That's not really my thing, but it wasn't enough to turn me off of the book.

It was fine, but sort of ridiculous. The characters, their neurosis and personal demons... it was all over the top, not particularly believable, and somewhat silly. And why did all this pop up 10 years later? Why not one year? Or five? And the resolution was sort of dumb, too - half "stupid, insane/criminal people," and half "creepy characters from another world."
I read it, and I'm not sorry... but this is my second Jennifer McMahon book, and both were ridiculous, so I think I can assume that her books are not for me.
