Beware! This is part two of a serialisation. The book starts at chapter twelve and finishes at chapter 20. I could see no indication of how many parts there are to this story.

I think I would have really liked this book if I could read it in its entirety, I liked the characters and I was intrigued by the secrets but I really didn't get enough in 77 pages to know for sure. So a probable four stars rounded down to three stars because of the serialisation format and the lack of plot development.

The book opens at a fancy dress party where the guests are dressed up as London underground station names. Although there is a dramatis personae at the front of the book I still found it quite difficult to tell one character from the other, especially because one of them, Bea I think, also gets called Mel.

The over-arching story arc is that Nora is getting married to Harry and she has four best friends Bea, Cleo, Daisy and Sarah who are going to be her bridesmaids. Each of the four bridesmaids has a secret, or at least an issue, which she is keeping, more or less successfully, from the others.

This book is about the girls going away for a weekend to the Cotswolds to choose the wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses.

This seems like it could be a really good, fun book but by the time I got a grip on the different characters and could tell them apart, it ended. I didn't realise that this was just one part of several, I thought it would be the second half. There wasn't enough of a cliff-hanger to make me want to buy these individually but I might buy the complete book at the end. I don't like this breaking up of books, I think it is a way of getting readers to pay more for an e-book than they would otherwise be willing to do. I didn't mind it with Meljean Brooks' awesome [b:The Kraken King|15788727|The Kraken King (Iron Seas, #4)|Meljean Brook|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1386056737s/15788727.jpg|21509319] because it had fantastic cliff-hangers and I started reading them after three or four parts had been published so I could read them in quick succession but otherwise, no.

I received a free copy of this novella from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Woohoo. Part two is finally here.

In Bridesmaids (2) – The One with the Wedding Dress, Erin Lawless takes the girls dress shopping in the Cotswolds. Let’s face it though, wedding planning is stressful and no event is more stressful than dress shopping. Rather than just having a fun time with her friends Nora has to pander to her disapproving mother who seems to be actively trying to find fault with every aspect of the wedding.

Along with pushy assistants in dress shops, friends with secrets that they are not yet willing to share, and the hunt for the perfect dress Bridesmaids (2) – The One with the Wedding Dress is fraught with difficulty. But by god, it is is a good read.

I loved Bridesmaids (2) – The One with the Wedding Dress. Erin Lawless has captured the world of weddings perfectly and the character revelations have just made the story all the more interesting. My one negative is that I felt like I had to wait ages for part two. I hope the wait for part three goes b quicker because I need to know what happens next!

Bridesmaids (2) – The One with the Wedding Dress by Erin Lawless is available 16th September 2016.
