10 out of 5 stars. Incredible book. It had magic, romance, murder, mystery, diverse characters, I could go on. All of the characters were multi-dimensional. I could not figure out the mystery for the life of me. This book was simply amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. LOVE. Instantly one of my all-time favorite books. I can’t wait to read what Frances White comes out with next.

A great, cozy-ish murder mystery fantasy romance! While I found it to be on the light side, it's full of witty quips, it does deal with some darker topics. 

Overall, for me it was entertaining, emotional, and I found the conclusion to be very satisfying.

I thought the inclusivity and LGBTQIA+ rep was top notch too.

Trigger Warning: This book does discuss suicidal ideation and overcoming that.

​   I just kept waiting for the book to improve and find out what all the hype was about. Well, it didn't. One of the twists I didn't see coming for most of the book. The final "twist" was pretty obvious. G was fairly insufferable as well, which didn't help the book.

Spring 2025: Libby/Audio -- what a unique world/concept. I enjoyed learning about all the different blessed characters and their abilities as well as their motivations. The murder mystery was also interesting to follow and I never guessed any of the twists which I always loved being surprised by. I enjoyed seeing the MMC's growth throughout the story and the different friendships he made. The narrator was also excellent at delivering the humorous lines that the author sprinkled throughout the story.
Summer 2025: Upon rereading, I enjoyed it even more. Changed rating from 4.25 to 4.5 stars!

A different kind of murder mystery with magic, politics and an intriguing world. The characters were wonderfully diverse and I'm glad for that. Fast paced read that really kept you on your toes.
