Loved reflections on nuance, race, and the immigrant experience--both leaving a place and starting again and return home to an unrecognizable country. I loved the struggles she had feeling okay taking bits of life and spinning it into a blog.

An interesting and eye opening read. There were a lot of aspects of emigrating that never would have crossed my mind. Additionally, I was very intrigued by the difference between being African and being black in the U.S. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, however, I felt like the author had a hard time staying focused. Two-thirds of the way through the novel it felt like the main characters voice is drowned out by the authors voice; Blog posts are not relevant to the story line and often times I skipped over them.
