This short story is wonderful and heartbreaking. Wilde has a wicked wit and pulls the heartstrings while making the story compelling for children. This is a worthwhile classic.

This was a beautifully written children’s story, speaks about the cult of beauty and aesthetics and moral choices. I liked that we follow the perspective of a swallow and him meeting the statue of the happy prince who weeps. I also like the message of being good to everyone as it will make you feel good but allow good things to happen to you. Overall it’s a very beautiful story and something everyone can learn from
