Machadinho sendo machadinha. Rei do sarcasmo.
Brás é um chato de galocha, mas a sátira é tão intencional que tudo fica cômico. Além dos comentários incrivelmente criativos e os capítulos de "pausa". Muito diferente, eu acho genial esse jeito de escrever dele. Além dos capítulos curtos que tornam o livro muito dinâmico. Agora vou entrar no universo machadense e ler o livro do bitolado do Quincas Borba pra entender a origin story dele.

DID NOT FINISH

I have about 1/3 left and am just not enjoying this and have had to force myself to pick it up. It started out well enough. The more I read, however, the more annoyed I become. It's taking me forever to get through a book that is this short. I thought I'd be done with this in a few days, as the chapters are very short, but it just drags. Some good quotes but not worth the tedium of making it through just for random gems here and there. Disappointing. I was apprehensive going into this when I saw it compared to Sterne and Joyce. At least I can say I tried it!
