⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A silent terror haunts the mist.

Swift and deadly.

And down below, the threat that brought humanity to its knees is waiting…

I really enjoyed this book! A dystopian thriller that had me turning the lights back on! It had my heart pounding where I couldn’t stop turning the page.
You watch Adorane and Icelyn grow into their own as the world explodes around them. A coming of age in the middle of chaos. I have to say my favorite is Adorane. He’s intelligent and adventurous, honorable, kind and protective. He has his flaws, but Icelyn makes my eye twitch a little.
An immersive read, it pulls you in and you find yourself holding your breath. With POV’s from every corner you get a 360° view of their world. Overall, I really liked it and recommend picking it up, especially if you love dystopian books!

(Thanks to the Author for the eArc, in exchange for my honest review)

I absolutely loved this book! My favorite character is Icelyn. The book was written well with a good pace. It truly held my attention. I loved the images that were sent through my head with perfect description. I even teared up on a couple chapters. And the ending...epic! I kept wanting to read more and more toward the end, because I needed to know what was going to happen! I cannot wait to read the second book!

At first, I was intimidated by the number of chapters but delving into this dystopian world of betrayal, love and wonderful dangerous creatures, I raced through!

I liked the characters he has created. Icelyn is so strong and intelligent but also hot headed and has a sort of god complex. She’s definitely a character who will grow on you but will sometimes be frustrated at by making rash decisions! She is the complete opposite to her father who is weak, I found this a very interesting combination which I loved.

Some characters have more character development than others. Believe it or not, you’ll end up loving Torrain, or at least I did! There is a lot of perspectives so you definitely need to concentrate on who’s talking and where they are!

Another thing I loved was the mix of histories of are modern society to the ancient times with the gods! I loved this element and can’t wait to see more of it in the story! I also felt a very powerful message about the environment and how, we as humans, are destroying it and bending it to our will!

What would you do if mankind had turned itself into a society of otherworldly beasts, out to kill you off? The remainder of the human world as we know it solved this matter by seeking refuge from the Threat Below on a mountaintop for hundreds of years.

And nonetheless, the seeming balance that ensued was short lived. Humanity is closer to the beast and the threat below closer to humanity than it might seem. It's like the age-old saying - there's a wolf in us all, but do we decide to feed it?

I really enjoyed this dystopian story of a world once real. A place so forgotten, it is a fantasy now. And yet, not entirely, because the scent of freedom, the scent of love, will always win in the end, will connect us back with our need to belong.

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy of your incredible book! I couldn't put it down!
