Alexis McKinley is a photographer in a small town with her own business. She keeps to the same routine but all that is about to change when Cory Baker moves into town.

Alexis feels an immediate attraction to Cory but due to a bad relationship in her past she is very hesitant to get involved with Cory. But Alexis is not the only one with ghosts in her past as she knows that Cory is holding some secrets from her as well.

Will both be able to move on from their respective pasts and have a relationship together or will they both let their pasts interfere with any chance at happiness?

Without giving much away I loved the innocence of Alexis in her sexual relationship with Cory. She has not been involved in a relationship for a long time and I liked that she asked questions and had to look things up. To me it seemed so genuine and I really enjoyed the author not having her know how to please a man immediately. There is a lot of sexual scenes in the book and Cory is definitely the more dominant one.

The book has a few twists but really shows a human and vulnerable side to both of the characters that makes the book very believable.

I loved the relationship that Alexis has with her best friend Bernie and her niece Paige. Both of these two really support Alexis and help her out with all of her relationship questions which is so important for women to have. I also loved the close bond that Alexis has with her family.
