A lighthearted funny book which, in some sort of way, clarified to my severely depressed brain that I don't have a reason for feeling this way. Easier said than done, I know very well, having been depressed for 4 years now, but the way the “earthmen” are described as being miserable and anxious for no apparent reason, and remain so for their whole lives, kindled something inside of me. Kind of changed my outlook on life. An odd book, very fast-paced and a bit all over the place with endless sidetracking. It was very interesting to see the pieces slot together, however small, but the endings left me wanting for more as they were very anticlimactic. My recommendation would be to read the series with breaks instead of all at once as it got a bit too much and too ridiculous.

A great work of science fiction humor. Slightly dated as we move away from the era it was satirizing, but still worth it nonetheless for the absurdist humor.

There's nothing to say about Douglas Adams's utterly fantastic science fiction that hasn't already been said, and if there is, it's in a language that even a Babelfish can't understand.
