DID NOT FINISH: 48%

About halfway through this book I decided it wasn't for me.

This felt like a memoir vs a book about how she dealt with the loss of her husband.  Since I don't know this author, I felt lost half the time.  She mentioned many other people in this book whose names were somewhat familiar, but I didn't know them.  Felt a little like name dropping.

I'm in honestly not sure how this book ended up on my list but I'm dropping it now

masterful approach to grief and loss

Some of the content was raw and sad, but a lot of it was unrelatable. Can't recommend.

At times this reads as a deeply personal and relatable account, but a lot of it is very u relatable in describing her life.

“We imagined we knew everything the other thought, even when we did not necessarily want to know it, but in fact, I have come to see, we knew not the smallest fraction of what there was to know.”

heartbreaking and beautiful and incredibly intimate; nothing i can say will live up to didion’s prose
