I really enjoyed this book, great intro to the author. Some of the preoccupation with Luca wanting Ever to have his kids was a little off putting at times (frequent mention), which is why I docked .25. But overall, great story and I will be reading the rest of the series!

This book is fast paced (my opinion), its over 350pgs more plot would’ve been appreciated. Maybe more of Luca’s background/ what he does, etc. We just know that he’s a RICH BOSS who went to jail for killing his sister’s ex bf. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this book! And they hunching reallllll good! To me this is a love at first sight type of read.

What worked for this story was the developement of the relationship between Luca and Ever. Also the unproblematic vibes they built was so sweet on page. Luca was a complete cinnamon bun (more Black men crying on page please) but please don't mistake his gangst because when it came to his family, this man did not play.

I loved Ever's and Lyric's relationship as well. Black authors, ya'll are doing it when it comes to Black women and their friendships! The girls were a beautiful addition too.

This story has DV on page and there needed to be a tw mentioned as the abuse was brutal. Also, there were times when the story stalled but for the most part, Luca was a pretty good read.
