I received this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
And... this was amazing! It was nice to read a not so heavy book after just finishing Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, which was really sad.
It was a real nice change to read another book by Sarah and I am so glad that a few months ago she had reached out to me to review her debut because I loved it and loved this and if she hadn't reached out to me, I wouldn't have gotten the chance to read this!
The romance was great! I really enjoyed Noah and Georgie's romance and it was just so sweet the way they were with each other. The first chapter in this book was so heartbreaking and it was uncomfortable to read, however it was also a real issue in the world and I think it is great that authors acknowledge real life problems instead of keeping their characters in a fake bubble that would never be the way it would be in real life.
Noah was so sweet and I loved getting to read from his point of view because in Sarah's previous book it was the twins point of view but reading Noah's POV instead of reading a girls POV the entire time was nice. I enjoyed this book a lot and recommend it to all New Adult fans.
Plus, I can NOT wait for Rhett's book! I loved him in this book he was hilarious.

This book went by fast. It was an okay read, nothing was really wrong with the book. All I can say is the author should definitely bring Ben back. I mean there was no body so it's a possibility. The TV show Arrow did it. And I want Sydney to have him. If not, I guess Rhett would be okay...but Ben would be better.
Kill Devil Hills is the second novel by Sarah Darlington and the first in the Kill Devil series. Noah and Georgie’s story is so moving, making it hard to put down. This story had just enough drama to make you feel for the characters but not so much that you feel slight bouts of anxiety.
Growing up in the same house, Noah and Georgie never really noticed each other. With six years between them, it wasn’t hard to understand why their worlds never really connected. But a fateful night when Noah saves Georgie’s life changes all of that. It is the catalyst that helps them realize they need to be in each other’s lives. Seeing each other after Georgie returns home confirms their feelings. Out of respect for his best friend, Georgie’s older sister, he tries to stay away from her but quickly realizes he can’t. Just like Noah is the beacon in her storm to find herself again, Georgie becomes the balm that soothes Noah’s need to control all situations and their outcomes. Through each other they learn to live again.
Kill Devil Hills is a sweet, moving story that kept me wanting more. I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment.

ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this. It's that simple. And I know that I have an already-established relationship with Sarah, but don't think for a second that this influenced my opinion or rating.
Let me explain why.
First off, even though I thoroughly enjoyed Sarah's first novel, [b:He Belongs With Me|21486045|He Belongs with Me|Sarah Darlington|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1395771945s/21486045.jpg|27108448], I loved this one so much more. I just felt more deeply connected to these characters because of the various struggles they all deal with--especially the two MCs.
Let's start with Georgie. My siblings and I are all pretty close in age as well, and are often mistaken as twins/triplets as a result. My brother (whom I am admittedly closer to) also recently decided, seemingly out-of-the-blue, to join the Armed Forces. And, while I am extremely proud and supportive of him, there is a small, wholly selfish part of myself that doesn't want him to go. For this reason, I understand completely Georgie's sense of abandonement, and later her inexplicable grief, when Ben leaves her. I can't even imagine if, God forbid, something happened to him or any of my siblings--let alone how I would react.
Which brings me to my second point about Georgie--her realistic (if not the most prudent) reaction to Ben's death. I think her journey to acceptance, forgiveness for herself, and eventually the want to keep living was very believable and inspiring. When you decide to take your own life, you are thinking of no one else but yourself--no matter what you tell yourself in order to take that final step. You want the pain of life to stop, you want to join someone else in the afterlife, you think the world would be better without you--it's all about yourself. A large part of this story is Georgie needing to realize this--realizing that Ben would want her to LIVE, accepting his loss, learning how to live without him, and moving on with her life. Her journey was beautiful and inspiring to follow, especially since she had such a sweet someone to help her through.
Which brings me to Noah.

Gorgeous, sweet, sexy, and genuine Noah. He is truly my OCD soulmate, and we would spend many a sleepless nights cleaning, organizing, and generally losing sleep over our need to control everything around us. I so understood his need for control in his life now after everything he's lived through, and I felt deeply for him and his struggle. Noah is definitely the silent, strong, and sexy type--and I loved that about him. He was the light at the end of Georgie's abysmal tunnel, and together they found something to live a better life for. [Heavy on the cheese, I know, but true :)]
Overall, I'd say this is a definite must-read! Sarah has proven herself as an author who can dish out lovable but still realistic characters, adding in a little mystery to her romance to keep us entertained and guessing on the outcome. I am curious to learn more about Sydney and her relationship to Ben and who Ellie's friend-from-the-past is. Loved this one, and I can't wait to read what else Sarah has in store for these lovely characters!

First up in the series is the story of Georgiana (the youngest of the Turner's and the closest to her brother Ben, who passed away) and Noah (best friend of Ellie, Georgiana's older sister). Their story is definitely my favorite out of this series, I loved everything that was happening between the both of them. And my goodness, this was a rather emotional read.
It's no mystery that Georgiana took her brother's death pretty hard. And Noah was at the right place, at the right time, essentially saving Georgiana's life. Even though these two have been in each other's life for years, it wasn't until that life-altering moment, that they truly started to see each other in a different way.
When it comes to how she's dealing with everything in the after, Noah is the only person where she feels perfectly safe. That day connected them in more ways than one and they're quickly learning how to navigate everything, together.
It's a new beginning for the both of them, a fresh start of sorts and they couldn't be more perfect for one another. Noah is soooo protective of her, but he never hides any kind of truth from her. I love how honest they are with each other, it's definitely something they both need.

OH MY GOD, THIS BOOKS WAS BEYOND PERFECT!

[a:Sarah Darlington|7462746|Sarah Darlington|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1415563710p2/7462746.jpg] was kind enough to send me a copy of [b:Kill Devil Hills|23328337|Kill Devil Hills (Kill Devil Hills, #1)|Sarah Darlington|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1412818081s/23328337.jpg|40847705] after I requested an ARC of her upcoming book [b:Changing Tides|22908773|Changing Tides (Kill Devil Hills, #2)|Sarah Darlington|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1423858641s/22908773.jpg|42472347]. Thank you again so much for that, Sarah. That was very nice of you!
I'm lost for words on how amazing this story was and how beautifully it was written. At the very beginning I was a little hesitant on what to think about the happenings and I was even a little afraid that it would turn out into some whiney "I'm so depressive'-Story. There's nothing wrong with those, but I usually prefer something more...light.
But as the story carried on, I more and more fell in love with Georgina (Georgie) and Noah.
Georgie is the younger sister of Ellie, who is Noah best friend. The 18-year old girls has been through a rough time the past year, and it's Noah who is lifting her up again. I really really like her. She seemed so sweet and adorable, yet not annoying or whiney. Within the book you can see how she becomes more confident and leaves her insecurities behind. The past still plays a major role in her life, and likely ever will, but you can feel how she lets go of the past and starts living.
The person making her feel so alive is Noah. Having had himself a troubled childhood, he knows what it feels like to be lost and having to overcome obstacles. Now he lives exactly that life he always wanted to. He's a successful business owner, has few but good friends and woman, is good-looking...and definitely falling for Ellis little sister Georgina.
One thing for sure, I definitely fell in love with him. He has some kind of Alpha-Male-vibes but not too much, he's sweet and caring, and it's impossible not to love him. Not to mention about his look is described:
HOLY SHIT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?

Hmmmm....I love brown eyes

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I can't even breathe no more!

I love the way he sees things with her, his Georgie:
I just...wow!

Overall this book was so far the best book I have read this year and definitely one of the best in the New Adult - genre.
It was everything I needed in a book: a little drama/sadness, love, hot sexy, cuteness and awwww. Yeah I like it kitschy in a good way!
Thank you Sarah for this amazing book! I can't wait to dive right into the next one!

"His whiskey-colored eyes, a prettier brown than I'd ever been close to enough to notice, connected with mine"
Hmmmm....I love brown eyes

"He might have been quite, but he had a strong, unshakeable presence about him. I wondered how those traits translated during sex. Was he secretly soft and gentle or rough and controlling"
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I can't even breathe no more!

**I received this book from the author for free in exchange for an honest review**
A great love story between an unexpected couple, every girl k know has had a crush on the male friend of their older sibling and this book is the embodiment of that fantasy come true. Truely a swoon worthy book beautifully written and dealing with problems which for some are very real.
The main characters Georgie and Noah are six years apart in age which makes the whole idea a little difficult to swallow however it was so superbly well written that it very much seemed like that had been taken into consideration. We first meet Georgie lying in a pool of her own blood after slitting her wrists over the death of her brother, we also meet Noah here where he saves her life. Even in the first event in this book- the horrific bathroom scene- we know these two characters are going to be connected. When Georgie gets out of the hospital following this event we find the two main characters in a completely different situation. The new look Georgie is sporting as well as the fact Noah failed to get Georgie to leave his thoughts throughout her hospital stay mean the two of them find themselves automatically drawn to each other. A night in the same bed only adds to the growing attraction between them and pretty soon after the pace of the book picks up and we are thrown into a whirlwind romance. I loved both of the main characters for their ability to overcome such life altering events throughout their life but more than that I loved their ability to seek comfort in each other and even love each other.
The secondary character that I found noteworthy was Ellie, Georgie's older sister and Noah 's best friend who accepted the couple very easily despite her love and connection to both of them.
The pacing was great starting off slow as the characters came to grips with the major event that took place as well as what caused it but then speeding up as the couple fell more in love with each other. I also liked that despite the age gap between the two characters the epilogue was based in the foreseeable future and in a place where both characters could potentially be happy.
The storyline was great and I liked that there was very little fall out between the characters just a couple in love and taking their time in a new relationship. I realise the issues faced by the characters are very real and found that they were very well portrayed given the impact the issues may have on people's lives.
4 stars. This author is quickly becoming a favourite.

I thought this book started off really good. It went a little down hill for me after the first couple of chapters. I thought the two charactors were cute together but there was no real plot to the story. I'd give this a 2.5 just because It held my interest enough for me to keep waiting for something interesting to happen.
