Whimsical and hilarious in its own way. The kind of picture book that is dependent on the text in order to be understood. Yet once one sees the pictures, they take on a life of their own, with an animation and movement that are so unique and characteristic of Steadman. You can really see his sense of humour shine through (reminded me a bit of The Phantom Tollbooth).
