I ate this up, though rhe intro almost lost me. The FMC absolutely Infuriated me at times! The level of denial about Wyvernmire was ridiculous but i love the concept. So unique and brilliantly set...not sure how book 2 will go.

Absolutely loved this one! I do wish more people would talk about this, this is so under hyped.
As someone who is studying a language themselves, I got so invested in how dragons talk to each other. In general, the whole thing with the dragons was so cool. I was a bit confused at times because I thought maybe the dragons were shifters, but they weren't. Otherwise, I thought the world building was very good and I loved getting into all the politics.
The fmc was annoying me most of the time I have to say. She finds herself in difficult, ethical situations and acts selfish. Actually, that made her very real and human. I'm convinced a lot of people would choose their family over the greater good. I myself was torn throughout the book, too (even though I was screaming at her to do the right thing because she lives in a book). The moment it finally clicks for her was so satisfying!
The last 30% were CRAZY! One overwhelming. thing. after. another! We find out so much, my head was spinning in the best way. The ending was especially crazy, but I'm not REALLY sad about it. I bet it'll somehow be fine in the next book. Can't wait for the next!

Bletchley Park with Dragons - genius!
The fantasy element is fairly low key, and the politics, class system, government (Big Brother) are immersive and engaging, and guaranteed to get your hackles up at the corruption inherent within.
If that sounds like your sort of book - give it a go, you won't be disappointed
