I legitimately don't know how to rate this. I don't think it's amazingly plotted or anything, but the way the various themes come together for the series as a whole is pretty great. Also, she does something with the concept of the mate bond that I have literally never seen anywhere else, and it's fascinating.
I've just really enjoyed the worlds that Elizabeth Hunter builds. The Elemental World is probably still my favorite, but this one is really close behind. This book read a little slow in parts, but I think it is because there was a lot of information that needed to be conveyed to wrap up the story.
Ava and Malachi are finally complete and back to their old ways. They have so much love for each other and it shows with every line- even when they are fighting. I am looking forward to reading the spin-off books.

I absolutely loved this series. I love a strong, well-developed, protagonist female character that is independent with a personality and I love even more that her romantic interest appreciates authentic female strength. Too often in the paranormal romance/fantasy genre do authors fall back on classic tropes of women (and calling these stereotypical characters women is a stretch, they're usually barely out of high school) needing to be rescued by their strong, possessive, overbearing men. Here in the Irin Chronicles each character, both Ava and Malachi, are self-aware, self-reflective in a mature adult relationship that evolves as the characters evolve as new experiences are had. This series had me completely enraptured from start to finish, almost to the detriment of my family because I was so involved in these characters I couldn't come back to reality. Well done Elizabeth Hunter for portraying characters that I could relate to, that reflect the realistic difficulties of love and sadness and grief. Bravo.
he Secret kept a fairly clipped pace with revelations, twists, altercations and intense battles.
Hunter brought the scenes with the Angels, councils, and the battles to life. I am loving two particular Angels and hope we see more of them, one you know of as Death and the other sometimes takes the form of an innocent pet. You’ll have to listen to discover for yourself. Spoilers darling!
We see growth from our characters, say goodbye to some and watch friendships and relationships strengthen and develop.
The romance throughout this three-piece saga was swoon-worthy and the author certainly kept me listening as I need my happily-ever-after damn it!
The overall story ARC of these first three novels wrapped up, but threads have yet to be resolved and many Irin Scribes are unmated. There are seven books and a novella with two narrator changes.
Zachary Webber narrates the first three and became the voices of these characters. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating, this is some of his finest narration work. He brought the emotions of these characters to life and enhanced their story. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

And here I am, in love again with the Irin Chronicles <3
Ava and Malachi are finally back and they are really together, probably for the first time in the saga.
The other carachters are deepened and the third book is really a choral story and it's also a story o ribirth and growth, on how people can overcome (or start to overcome) a collective mourning.
Two are the pieces that made me cry:
1) when Ava and Malachi mate and Ava sings for him
2) when Jaron says goodbye to Ava
And Vasu, we are just starting to get to know him and he's simply perfect!

For the first time in his eons of existence, Jaron felt. "Now that I must leave, I find that I do not want to go."
