Love the story building and the progression. However it did get dull at times.

Liked her first book ‘Cruel Beauty’ but this was a delightful twist on ‘Little Red Riding-hood’.

I don't know why it took me so long to read this book. A month for YA book?! =,=

It's kinda boring in the middle, but I am so glad that it's getting better toward the end. Finally I finished it.

Such a pity with this one. Good idea for a story but....shew I struggled through it.

Very cliched but because I cant write I will not say anything more except thank you!

The story was great but I listened to it and I didn’t understand like 3/4 of it 😂

3 and a half actually cause I really enjoyed it! I couldn't put it down and that hasn't happened to me in a while. Plus I adored it's darkness! The writer builds the atmosphere well. She transports you to her twisted universe very smoothly I thought. The stories within the story are gripping and I found the whole thing kinda original. Then again, I'm not a big YA fun so there might be a dozen books like this but since I haven't read them, I found it really original! :P On the other hand, it was a bit superficial in parts.. could have taken more time building up to things... maybe delve deeper in relationships or their repercussions... Still, it had these faults without becoming garbage, so... 3 and a half :)

4/5

I'm having a really difficult time trying to truly express my disappointment with this book. The concept was there, but overall fell flat. I kept thinking "oh, it's almost done", then realized I was only a third of the way in - a problem that continued to occur. After a full 24 hours to digest, I have decided the main issue that drove me to eventually truly dislike the book - I don't believe a damn thing.

I know. Very weird for a fantasy novel, but I didn't ever feel like anythinv that waz going on was real or truly happening with this character. There are no real surprises and the ending was mostly thrown together bits that did not provoke any emotion.
Like I said - disappointing

Looking back, this novel reminds me a lot of the netflix hit "Stranger Things": both want some explanation for the great world beyond which is a central figure in the story.

As a reader, I was left with too many questions for this to be a great read. The concluding chapters make me ask so many questions and open so many doors that could have been better explored throughout the pages. The incessant self-hate by the main character also is a bit grating, and leaves me not necessarily caring too much as to her fate- I am far more interested in her love interest in the story. But even this has no true closure.

While I grasp for some answers, I will probably not read any sequels- the writing and lingering questions along with missed opportunities leaves too much on the line for me to risk remaining unsatisfied at the conclusion of another volume.
