Blender Babies

What a sick and twisted book. Reminded me night of the living dead to some extent, but these zombie like people were cannibals. They would blend baby’s in a blender to get a “high” (something in an aspect of like being in bath salts). These babies fiends would kill anyone and anything that got in their way. They would steal the babies and freeze them, and all kinds of craziness. I thoroughly enjoyed tf out of this book. Definitely something different!!

Blender Babies by Jon Athan is a gruesome, gory post-apocalyptic book where “blender babies” are the new drug of choice. Once they try them, addicts are willing to literally do anything to get their next taste. The main character, Brian, must test his own limits as he fights for survival while also trying to protect his wife and two children…including an infant daughter.

Blender Babies is an action-packed story of survival that takes place in a unique post-apocalyptic setting. I was initially hesitant about the content of this one because I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to handle it. However, I feel like the author did a fabulous job of creating main characters that the reader can care about. Similarly, the cause of the apocalypse was intriguing and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. This book DOES contain graphic gore and violence, so I would advise readers to proceed with caution if they’re sensitive to that type of content. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this book to fans of extreme horror, splatterpunk, and post-apocalyptic fiction.

Jon Athan does it again! A messed up concept written so well you can't put the book down. The gore is there but not as detailed of the actual blending portion as I'm sure many are worried for. In true Jon Athan style, the ending pissed me off (in a good way). Def worth the read!

If you want something that’s more horrific and disgusting than the world we actually live in, look no further. I love the way that Athan builds a world that feels possible, while also being so outlandish it seems impossible. The plot itself was almost more disturbing than the insane violence, which I usually find isn’t the case with extreme horror. Overall, I loved this disturbing, disgusting book.
