I always worry that I won’t like the new characters as much but they are always amazing! I loved Cress and her and Thorne’s chapters were my favourite to read! (I am now a giant Thorne fan!)
I also love how all the characters storylines overlap so even if they are in different places and separated, it is still a cohesive and continuous story.
It was fun having the group separated for a bit but I must say I love when they are all back together working together.
I found this book so fun to read and I love how the stakes are rising more and more as the characters are also developing.
Can’t wait to read Winter!!!

Always spoiler review
So far, my favorite of the series. I loved Cress and Thorne. Even though Cress was a little tiring, I like that her Seeing Thorne as this great guy kind of made him want to be one. I like that him becoming blind showed him frustrated, but never incompetent.
Wolf's character still weird me out, but also in this world he was literally genetically fucked with to be a bit of a raging monster so 🤷🏼♀️
I did think the Dr dad reviel was a little bleh, but over all, was exciting and fun.
I'm so intrigued about Winter.

Content warnings at the bottom. :)
Well, I can’t always have nice things. Once again, Meyer seems allergic to describing her settings in any detail, and once again it’s set in a culture that she, as a white woman, has no claim on. As such, and additionally with my other gripe, this is the beginning of the Lunar Chronicles downhill plummet.
Much like in Laini Taylor’s Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares, I hate age gaps like the one in Cress. Cress is 16. She’s a child. And Thorne is a grown ass man. It’s especially icky because he pushes her away not because she’s a child but because he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. So, gross. Hate it. Also, their miscommunication drives me nuts. I hate miscommunication plots.
I also don’t like that
Rating: 3.5
Would I recommend? Kind of, especially if you enjoy age gaps, found family and literally found family, and sci-fi fairytale retellings.
