This was an intense read. At certain points, I put it down because it gave me a couple of nightmares from reading right before going to sleep. The plot twist accelerated how quickly I wanted to finish, though.

Fun read!
I really thought I knew what the plot twist was going to be, but I guess I didn't.

A psychological study demonstrated that cheating or breaking rules results in an unexpectedly good mood afterward. As well as a brief sense of freedom from all rules. So perhaps we should all bend the rules sometimes.

I believe that any human being is capable of terrible things if you could you push them hard enough.

This was a quick and fun read. I didn’t see the twist coming even though I was trying to think of what it could be. The ending was a little ridiculous which is why I’m doing 4 stars, but overall I enjoyed this book!

After “The Housemaid”, “Never Lie”. I gave it a couple of chances, but the axe fell: Freida McFadden is not for me.
I rather enjoyed the first part; I was expecting a straightforward thriller with a bit of subtlety. Halfway through, I realize that this is probably not going to be the case. Well, I managed to be surprised by the ending, which was even more distressing than I'd expected!
Goodbye Freida!

Thought this was ok! Just a regular thriller, some reasonable twists but nothing too exciting for me. I think it could have used an edit — felt a little slow and repetitive for the content and pacing of it all. I would probably try another by Freida McFadden, since it was an easy audiobook for me, but not jumping to the next one by any means.

This is genuinely the worst book I've ever read. I listened to it with my Brother and Sister in law in the car because my SIL had read good reviews. Then we'd committed, so we had to finish it. Horrendous, unrealistic (to an insane degree) writing. Unbelievable characters. Nonsensical story. Terrible representation of mentally ill people and no research at all into psychiatry.
It read like it could have been written by A.I and the only reason I don't think it was is because it was published in 2022.
