Never Lie by Frieda McFadden is a solid, fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing.

Like her other books, it follows a familiar formula of misdirection and unexpected twists. I was hooked throughout, and the ending did surprise me - once in a way I enjoyed and once where it felt a bit too convenient.

My main gripe is when twists don’t quite align with earlier parts of the story, which happened here. A twist should surprise us, not the characters.

That said, it’s a decent read if you’re after a quick, engaging thriller that doesn’t demand too much depth.

Freida McFadden’s other books have set such a high standard for me that this one fell kinda flat 😟 it was enjoyable as a story and the twist was okay but it wasn’t giving the same thriller energy as her other books. i still recommend reading it ofc but its more of a dark story than a thriller imo

It was fine. I was inclined to turn the pages and see the ending, which wasn't actually that exciting. none of the characters were that interesting to me. i don't feel very strongly about this book in either direction, it was just okay. won't be recommending it to my friends!

At first, I hated the characters, then I started falling in love with some of them, then I hated them again with a touch of respect.
Adrienne is a great character. She goes from feeling like a robotic and cold person to thawing with love.
Tricia is also an interesting  character. Very damsel in distress at first, but as we learn more about her she proves to be powerful.

My thoughts on the answer to the mystery posed by this book were completely off base. It is a very intriguing storyline, and we don’t leave the setting of the house, except for flashbacks, which really impacts the tone the author was going for.
I really enjoyed the recording transcripts too.
