I keep thinking about so many stories from this book, especially the firebird from Australia. Wild. I'll be reading more Jennifer Ackerman. Accessible and well-researched science journalism.

That was a journey. I felt a little overwhelmed initially with The Bird Way since it's packed with a lot information straight out the gate that is most likely easy to grasp for those who are well-versed in birds. Instead of reserving this book for later, I took my time, and Youtubed and Googled them to get a visual understanding as well as their unique sounds. This was enjoyable.

I’ll be terrorizing everyone I know with bird facts for the next few weeks. I had a lot of fun with this; it was very anecdotal, so if you’re looking for something more textbook-like, this isn’t for you. But if you’re looking to learn about birds and bird behavior in a way that feels like an in-depth conversation with your very cool naturalist friend, then this *is* for you!

Birds don’t get enough credit for their intelligence and coolness and also being called bird brain is indeed the highest compliment.
