This was a quick and fun book but romance wise, I thought it was lacking. The characters were entertaining but what we get is pretty surface level. I would have loved more background and connection between them.

As fun as this book was, the story was pretty predictable and the ending was rushed. There was also so much action that it was hard to see the romance develop, although it was a bit insta-lust. Mendez and Dove were cute together but there wasn't a whole lot of character development, both individually and together.

🌶️
Was the plot flimsy? Of course, so much.

Did I have fun? Mostly yes, this was silly fun stuff.

Did the FMC go from uber competent to annoying as fuck with no common sense and a wildly overactive libido in life threatening situations? 100% yes, that happened, it was annoying and very distracting to listen to her talk about his muscles while in an active car chase.

Was it weird we didn't know the MMCs name until the last page, and that the author wrote that it had to be "earned" by the FMC? YES, WTF, WHY?????

This had everything I loved in a book. Lots of laughs, romantic tension, sweet sisterhood, and risky adventure! It read much like your favorite spy action movie (with a side of rom com) and could easily become your new favorite comfort read.

Pros:
- decent writing
- connectable FMC and MMC
- has all my favorite things
- awesome narrator

Cons:
- insta love
- characters weren’t deeply developed
- a little repetitive talking about Mendez’ muscles…but I’m not too mad 😂
- some plot holes I take pleasure in ignoring

maybe i'll try again but i just wasn't feeling it

I was in the mood for an easy, light-hearted romance that I could drift along to and this was just that. There was too much instalove for my taste (so I didn't really buy into the way they were ready to do anything for each other so quickly) and some parts of the plot felt unrealistic, but the action was fun and the final climax kept me reading past bedtime.
