I have read quite a few of the author's books and I liked this one the best so far. I prefer that the story is only from the woman's point of view, it leaves a bit of mystery about the man's intentions and feelings.

To be honest the story had to end at the ball. The scene after that was kind of ridiculous and threw me completely out of the romance. There were enough struggles already without that scene.

Good first book by Ashtyn Newbold. I liked this Regency era story and was quickly sucked into it. While the characters were likable, they behaved in a way inconsistent with the time period. With a little more research into the customs and time period, I think the book could have been even better. All in all, the story was compelling and I enjoyed it, just had a hard time overlooking the problems with the author's portrayal of Regency era.

Sweet Regency story! Annette was a great heroine -- strong and yet vulnerable in certain ways. I loved Owen and his teasing - and his grandparents were a hoot! Enjoyed this one!

This was my second book by Newbold. I did find the gentleman to be quite fascinating. I feel like the supporting characters were rather one-dimensional. I think the Aunt needed a bit more flushing out to be more believable. Why would any one really be that horrid? Obviously, it is just to move the plot. Also, the back story felt weak with how they influenced the main characters. So....an entertaining read, but one that could have been better.

Owen and Annette's relationship is fun. Her brothers are mischievous, but not horrible like their Aunt thinks...... they are just being little boys. Aunt Ruth is a terrible, terrible person! I'm glad the book didn't deal with her much. Charlotte (I read her book first) I did not like here.

This isn’t just another light and fluffy Regency Romance. Annette has genuine issues and personal hurdles she has to overcome. That being said, there is also a lot of joy and laughter in the story.
