I had high hopes for Throne of Secrets, and while there were definitely things I enjoyed, I found myself feeling a little underwhelmed. The writing is lush, and the world remains intriguing, but the pacing dragged at times, making certain sections feel like more of a slog than they needed to be.
That being said, the smut scenes were definitely a highlight—they were well-written and added some heat to the story. However, I found myself craving more of an emotional connection between the characters rather than just the physical tension. I wanted to see their relationship develop in a deeper, more meaningful way instead of relying so much on lust.
Overall, Throne of Secrets had its moments, but it didn’t fully deliver on the romance and storytelling aspects I was hoping for. If you’re in it for the steam, you’ll likely enjoy it, but if you’re looking for a more heartfelt love story, you might be left wanting more.

Bridgerton meets dark romance part two. This is another book in the Wicked Princes series and this time we are following Gluttony. It’s a fun read though it is a little slow in parts. Because it’s meant to be a standalone book it spends a lot of time filling you in on details of the world and back story. Assuming you haven’t read any of the other books. Which you can but for those who have read the other books it’s a bit tedious. I do like how the characters grow from enemies to lovers and the dragons are a nice touch. Enjoy!

Overall I enjoyed diving back into this universe. Really liked the banter between the characters and the romance, although it was all really predictable (except me maybe for the reason for the whole hex thing).
I do think the word "rake" was overused and I’ll be happy to never read that word again for the next few months.
Also, just like the previous book, I had issues with the pace of the story, which almost made me lose interest several times. Maybe a shorter book would have been better.

The first 300-350 pages were so good!!! It was the perfect mixture between world building/mystery, romance and personal struggles and I was thoroughly entertained.
But as soon as
they didn’t hate each other anymore
it became too rushed in my opinion. Everything evolved too quickly for my liking and I thought it was too unrealistic given their previous history
(and the fact that they had both believed it for ten years)

I also didn’t really like how the mystery was resolved, it felt too rushed and too “easy”
and I hated the way that Adriana just forgave Eden. Sure, she was a child but I feel like there could’ve been a much better explanation for who used the quill:( I personally would’ve loved for it to be Ryleigh because I didn’t suspect her for most of the book (or even Sophie because she was a typical evil stepmother lol). Idk, I guess I just expected some big scheme or motive to be behind the use of the quill, so the fact that it wasn’t was a little disappointing.

That is not to say that someone else wouldn’t enjoy the book or the way it was resolved!!
I did have a good time reading it, all in all, and I’m excited for the next books because I love the world and the characters:)
