So much more a slow burn romance/relationship than magical orphan story which I kept seeing this marketed as. There are magical orphans, but this isn't a Harry Potter repeat or adventure romp. I loved the characters...all of them! I doubt there will be a sequel, but I kind of wish there would be.

According to how I rate books it doesn't feel right to give higher than this score since I wouldnt say its paticularly deep- but I LOVED this book.
It could be described as shallow, bad things happen but work out for the best in a fairly easy manner (especially in relation to bigotry) but sometimes that's exactly what you want.
For personal reasons the year so far has been awful, leaving me with no desire to read any books at all. Everything I tried I had to give up on.
Until Cerulean Sea, I figured since it wasn't too long I'd give it a shot and I devoured it.
The children are delightful and distinctive, all with they're own tragic backstories and enough heart to fill you to bursting. The romance was quite cute but fairly unobtrusive, featuring only close to the end of the book. But the star of it for me was Linus.
I loved Linus, he felt very real and I related to him a lot. His character development had me cheering for him, especially when he stood up for himself at work!
I've pre-ordered the sequel and can't wait for it to be out!
