I'm very conflicted with this one because while I loved the majority, the last quarter ruined it for me and lowered my rating from a high 4.5 to lower 3. As it just went really messy with a lot of time skips, behind the scenes and stuff we are just generally unaware off due to the first person pov. We only see things from Levis pov and while I actually enjoyed that for the majority, it ruined the story towards the last half as just takes a back seat to bunch of action we miss out on for the most part.

I would have loved to have seem more of the actual battle the progress and the rebuilding, instead of the rubbish that happened with Levi as I think it ruined a lot of his development too as he reverted back to just giving up everything for family again but causing more problems.

I feel awful though as that last quarter has just completely ruined my view, I'm giving all the negatives so I'm try to go with what I actually loved. The magic, manifestation, Apollyon and Levi in general made me laugh throughout their interactions and when it gets steamy well those scenes are amazing. Also adore Maiz and the hellhound was so cute. I'd love if more of the magic had been looked into of architects and he'd been able to use in a battle, yet sadly it never happened.

Overall it was a strange and interesting story, with some crazy yet fascinating ideas as obviously I couldn't drop it so it grabbed me at least. Yet I can't say I liked it in the end although it's rather fun for the majority and fast paced.

I absolutely fucking loved this. The premise got me right away, and when I started reading it I got excited because there were some similarities to a story I’m writing myself, and it made me more confident that I can publish it and there’s a market for it. This turned out to be a lot better than I expected and turned me on to LC Davis as a new favorite author.

This book doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is for its niche. I do think maybe it should’ve been a series - so much time passed and so much happened in the span of one book so it jumped ahead a lot, but I guess when eternity is the point, that’s necessary. But I would’ve welcomed a whole fantasy series about this plot. I wanted a little more development and I feel like I missed out on a lot of moments in between that I would’ve eaten up. But the moments we did get were surprisingly emotional, written well, and sprinkled with angst and drama. I got attached and invested, and I loved it. I would read this again, and I can’t wait to read more of LC Davis’s books.

Absolutely completely ridiculous but in a good way. It’s absurd. Very comedic. I appreciate what the author is doing. It’s enjoyable for what it is.

But also two things: 1) Holy pacing Batman. Its all over the place 2) I feel like there’s inconsistencies but that’s kinda minor because comedy is obviously the main point of the novel

DNF @70%...skimmed to the end.

Started very strong, and very funny...fizzled out and turned into something annoying.

Funny Levi turned into OTT annoying Levi.
I was waiting for a semblance of romance or a connection between Apollyon and Levi and franky there was non to be found.

The slump continues....

Wow, this book was a bit intense! For all the snark, sass, and witty comebacks from Levi throughout everything, this book also dealt with some pretty serious situations.

I loved Levi - I laughed at him, rooted for him, felt horrible for him, and honestly there were some points in this story where I wondered how he was going to get his HEA. Things were that intense! He and Apollyon were so great together - although I admit I would have loved something from Apollyon's POV to really see when he started seeing Levi as the love of his life, rather than just a snarky little human.

The ending is so great, and I'm SO glad Levi gets his HEA!

Wow!

This book was recommended to me by someone who will now become my BFF! This is one of the most entertaining and original stories that I've had the pleasure of reading. Loved everything about it! Highly recommend and hope there may be another story in the same universe.

This was a really really great read. A unique storyline that I haven’t come across before (not the Lucifer needs a vessel aspect). It was well written I enjoyed the characters it maybe could of used a bit more character depth but nothing major. What really dropped this from 5 to 4 stars was the time laps between purgatory and the reuniting with his family…50 plus years is a bit long even with the explanation the author gave. Which said explanation was like a mini mic drop with little follow up on before “The End” happened.

The snark is beyond fantastic. While there wasn’t a lot of sex, what was there was high up in standards to make up for it that I didn’t feel like it was lacking.

Overall, I highly recommend this one!
