It had some holes but I appreciated the complexity of the characters and their struggles.

Perry is will now be listed with all my other favorite main characters in middle grade books. I loved every minute of this read and found myself wiping away tears multiple times - both happy and sad. It was a wonderful reading experience and I hope Perry and his unusual family make their way into the hands of lots of readers.

I loved this book sooo much when i was younger!

Meu Deus que livro FOFO. A história é simplesmente tocante, e os capítulos curtos me ajudaram a ler mais rápido. Amei.

Loved the story & the characters.. We don't see a lot of kid lit books with incarcerated parents, and I appreciate that! Took away a star because I felt it was just a bit too long. Will definitely be sharing this one with students next year!

Such a good book. I loved Perry so much, and had very strong feelings about Mr. Van Leer. I suppose he meant well, and I can sort of see his point. I thought Connor did an excellent job of creating complex characters, and I very much enjoyed reading from both Perry and his mother's perspective.

No words for how much I adore this book.
