Really well written and beautiful story with main characters in their early 50s who are pushing themselves to learn and continue to grow. Atmosphere isn't something I normally notice or spend time thinking about, but this was the exception - it was intense and vivid and some of the places will live in my heart for a while.

This book had me captivated! Felt weird finishing a novel set in Alaska in the middle of a heat wave, but I could not put it down. It’s cozy, mysterious and utterly compelling. About a childless couple who start being visited by a wild little girl who appears seemingly from nowhere after they make a snowman in the shape of a child.

A devastating novel, The Snow Child creates lots of interesting concepts while leaving the mystery of the snow child open ended. Brilliant book, but dragged a bit in places. Reminded me of novels I read in 7th grade — people farming who aren’t entirely good at it who get good at it & northern living.

Ceritanya menarik, alurnya rapi, penggambaran tempat dan waktunya detail, pembawaannya santai, topiknya juga ringan, secara keseluruhan okee bgt buat teman sebelum tidur.

Book club read.

The writing was excellent, the characters well developed, the pacing was good. The setting was especially strong. This was a quick read in spite of the high page count. There were a few things that kept this from being 4 or 5 stars for me, but I'm but sure how to articulate them. I really enjoyed it, but it's not a book I would read over and over again. A good literary novel.
