While some of the stories were interesting, the trees in the stories often were not sacred in themselves. I felt the commentaries were shallow and often missed what seemed to be point of the stories.

Finished this recently. Good book. A collection of myths, retold, with commentary at the end of each myth. The themes of the collected myths are trees, and women. There's a lot to enjoy here. A good, fun, solid read for adults; for kids, too, with a little guidance.
